Carteret Islands are Papau New Guinea islands located in the south-west Pacific Ocean and consist of a population of 2500. The group is made up of islands collectively named after the British navigator Philip Carteret, the first European to discover those. Han is the most significant island while the others being small islets around the lagoon.
Certain inhabitants believe that the islands will be uninhabitable by 2015, as high tides have inundated the islands, destroying crops, wells and homes.

Tuvalu, formerly known as Ellice Islands, is a Polynesian island located in the Pacific Ocean, midway between Hawaii and Australia. It consists of six atolls and three reef islands with a population of 11, 636 which was estimated to be in 2005.
Tuvalu is the fourth smallest country in the world and the highest point in the country is less than five meters above sea level, but most of it is less than a meter above.
