For instance, Sanskrit which is one of the hardest languages in India is not used anymore as a conversational language. But this is not the case for people in Mattur Village. This culturally rich village is renowned for the usage of Sanskrit for day-to-day communication. Mattur is a village close to the Shivamogga city in Karnataka. The language Sanskrit is not only used for religious hymns in Mattur but also the vegetable vendors, commoners use this language as their mode of communication.
