2. Mumbai New-Delhi Rajdhani Express
The Mumbai Rajdhani Express that runs between Mumbai and Delhi in India is a super fast express train of Rajdhani class belongs to Indian Railways. It was introduced in 1972 between the Bombay Central and New Delhi.
Being the fastest train on the Mumbai-Delhi sector and the Rajdhani train it is also the second fastest train in India. Earlier, it used to cover the distance of 1385 kilometers in each direction in about 19 hours and 5 minutes. However, after the electrification of the route, the train has improved its speed and now it takes 15 hours 50 minutes at an average speed of 90.46 km/h (excluding halts). Before the introduction of the LHB (Linke Hofmann Busch) coaches the maximum speed that could be attained with the conventional rakes was 130 kmph. After introduction of the LHB coaches enhanced the speed of the Rajdhani to more than 130 kmph and sometimes it even touches 140 kmph mark.
