The country, especially the capital city is plagued by gang violence and drug trade. And despite the fact that the economic status of the country is on a high, thanks to the recent oil boom, the wealth doesn't seem to trickle down to reach the masses. And the poverty levels are still high, and it is forcing its residents to crime to earn a living.
There is an ever looming danger of being robbed even in broad daylight and authorities don't seem to have a solution to control the situation.
